When the Atlanta list reaches about 45 people, we set a scan date and invite everyone on it by email, and by text message only if you separately agreed to texts. Invitations go out to the whole list at once.
Booking a time slot takes a $50 deposit, credited toward your scan. It is refunded in full if you cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours ahead, and automatically if HALLĒ cancels the event. A no-show or a cancellation inside 48 hours forfeits it.
REMS (Radiofrequency Echographic Multi Spectrometry) is an FDA-cleared, ultrasound technology that measures both bone mineral density and bone quality. Unlike DEXA scans, REMS uses ultrasound and can be performed in approximately 20 minutes with same-day results.
DEXA scans use X-rays and measure only bone mineral density (BMD). REMS uses ultrasound and measures both BMD and bone quality. REMS also reports a Fragility Score and a 5-year fracture risk estimate alongside the T-score.
