REMS bone assessment is a screening tool for adults concerned about bone health and is not a replacement for diagnostic imaging ordered by a physician. Individuals currently under active treatment for osteoporosis should discuss REMS results with their treating physician. REMS results do not replace DEXA scans required for insurance-mandated treatment monitoring.

REMS assessments are not typically covered by traditional health insurance. However, you can use HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Spending Account) funds to pay for your assessment. We accept all major credit and debit cards.
The REMS bone health assessment itself takes approximately 20 minutes. Plan for about 30 minutes total to allow time for check-in and a brief overview of your results before you leave.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. The scan is performed on the lumbar spine and femoral neck areas. You do not need to undress — the ultrasound works through light clothing.
